Gender Inequality

Gender Inequality
In society we are able to see a huge gender gap, a gap that is between women and men. In the workplace, women have always been paid lower wages than men, as well as women have for the most part placed in lower positions. Although women can perform the same task as men, or do perform the same task as men, they are still under paid. Unlike women, men have higher wages and higher positions, and more likely to advance to higher levels at work. Women do not receive the same treatment at work, nor have the same gender privileges in the workplace. There is a huge division of labor in the workplace.

The picture above shows the inequality in wages and hours. Women and men worked the same hours, but yet, women were paid less than the men.  Full time men working more hours a week have a very higher wage than women. In a average full time week of forty hours, men also were paid more.
