Gender Discrimination

I could not stress enough the topic of gender stereotypes with this image, a nice mix of discrimination and overall stereotypes.  This character  happens to be Coach Bieste, part of a show called Glee; Coach Bieste, however masculine this character looks, is also female.  Should she have had looked more feminine, I highly doubt her employer would have considered giving her a position.
For a great majority, society raises us in a very gendered manner: we are all designated a color, blue or pink, at birth and are raised to think and act according to whatever color we a given.  So what does one say when a woman decides that instead of instructing ballet, she'd rather coach football? Or, if a man decides to step into the nursing field?  Regardless of how liberal some of us think we are, we still have an idea of which jobs are more suitable for men instread of women, and vice versa.  The overall message is that gender affects us in ways such as how we will conduct ourselves in public, and also what areas in the workforce we will be grouped under.
