Ecological Perspective Theory

ECOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE

I chose the Ecological perspective to best identify why families experience problems because this theory takes all factors into consideration. This theory stresses the importance of subsystems within the collective overall system that create boundaries, communication interlocks, and indirect affects on a family. The picture I have chosen portrays the different layers of influence that the enviornment may have on not only the individual level, but family institution. When researching what causes family problems, I believe you have to take all outside factors into consideration, which this perspective does well; from looking at the roles, interactions, indirect effects, society itself and connecting all factors together. Problems within a family are created from a number of outside influences.
