Feminist Theory

I think the feminist theory is the best theory to describe family and marriage issues. It has to do with gender and power. Gender plays a huge part in families, which translates to the 'doing of gender' in other institutions. The 'doing of gender' is the way a person talks to a certain gender and more or less the respect they have for a gender. For example, a woman is more likely to make the boss his coffee for the day in an office setting. This kind of gender role originates from the family. This image comically displays a gender role reversal of a husband and wife. Women are capable of being the bread winner in the household; men are capable of taking care of the house and the children while their spouse is working. Typical gender roles are now changing. Women can be mothers and thrive in the workplace.
