Ecological Perspective

In my opinion the theory that best helps explain family and marriage problems would be the Ecological Perspective theory because it focuses on individuals and their surroundings. For example it examines the relationship between individuals and their social environments, which affect their daily lives.  As the theory states there are five different stages involved such as the micro, meso, external, macro, and chrono systems. The image above shows a small circle containing an individual with their characteristics and their immediate family and institutions that surround them every single day. The second circle shows that the relationships the individual has with those certain settings mentioned in the first circle. The third circle shows larger institutions or settings that the individual may not experience directly but somehow certain policies or rules still affect them. The last circle deals with society, culture, ideologies, values, attitudes, and or beliefs.
