The theory that best explains the problems with families and marriages is feminist theory. It is closely related to conflict theory that deals with issues on social inequalities, power differences, and gender. As a result, feminist theory plays a role in how families and marriages struggle through society. The image I chose is a women doing all the household chores in the family. Basically the division of labor in the household are divided up unequally. The power distribution is unequal between the men and the women in the families and marriages. Eventually, this will cause tension between families and marriages because one person has more responsibility than the other. Most of the women in the household take on the double shift role in the family. It will cause the women to resent the men. Therefore, causing conflict between the men and women making the structure of the family unequal.
