50 First Dates is a 2004 American romantic comedy film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.
Henry Roth (Sandler), a womanizing marine-life veterinarian, spends his life in Hawaii for short-term sexual conquests and caring for animals in an aquatic amusement park with his assistants One day he meets Lucy Whitmore (Barrymore), a local art teacher; they hit it off and agree to meet again. However the next day when Henry returns, Lucy has no memory of him or their previous meeting, and Henry learns the explanation from the café owner: as a result of a car accident a year earlier, Lucy suffers from a form of amnesia in which each day's events disappear from her memory overnight. Falling in love with Lucy, Henry sheds his philandering ways and devises new ways to 'meet' her again every day, hoping that one day she will retain her memories, and feelings, for him.
Lee's Styles of Loving: Agape- They have an altruistic love especially Henry(Sandler) because he is self-sacrificing his life by being with her even though she forgets about him and does not remember him the next day. He is very kind and patient, never jealous or demanding and definitely does not seek reciprocity because he knows that it is not possible.
Sternberg's Triangular Theory of Love: Intimacy, Passion and Commitment are part of this movie and their love. Intimacy because there are feelings of closeness, connectedness and bonding. Passion which leads to romance, physical attraction and sexual consummation which occurred between the both of them. Commitment and Decision because Henry made a decision to commit to her no matter what was wrong with her, he was going to be by her side. In the long-term they have a commitment to one another to maintain that love over time.
